Randolph County Emergency Alert Communication Technology

Emergency Services includes fire inspection and enforcement of the N.C. State Building Codes, fire investigation, answer and dispatch of all emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance through 9-1-1 for all public safety agencies in the County, and response to and provision for appropriate pre-hospital medical care and transport. Prevention services include public education, mitigation measures through preplanning, and disaster planning. This department operates 24 hours per day.

suffering, property loss, and environmental damage from fire, natural disasters, and medical
emergencies by offering education, prevention, and emergency response. Promote a responsive

The 9-1-1 Communications Center has state-of-the-art equipment like enhanced 9-1-1 technology provided by Wireless Communications, Inc., using a VESTA software from Airbus DS Communications. The console radio system is a Motorola MCC-5500.
There are twelve identical console positions, each equipped with E9-1-1, radio, Geographical Information System (GIS), Division of Criminal Information (DCI) access through the NC SBI, Priority Dispatch’s ProQA software for Emergency Medical Dispatch, and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) provided by Spillman Technologies.
All Fire Departments, EMS, Rescue, and law enforcement agencies in Randolph County use the NC VIPER (800 mhz) radio system. Archdale Police Department utilizes the High Point Police Department’s 800 mhz radio system.
The 9-1-1 Center is located in a secure facility. Access codes are necessary for each entry/exit door to the facility and each door is monitored by camera. Visitors to the facility are escorted to their destination.
The 9-1-1 Center is responsible for dispatching all public-safety agencies having jurisdiction in Randolph County except the Archdale Police Department. 9-1-1 calls for the Archdale Police Department are answered by Randolph County, and then transferred to the police department.

Randolph County EMS has eight base locations across the County; Archdale, Asheboro, Erect, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Trinity and Uwharrie.. EMT-Paramedics are based at these locations ready to respond to any emergency 24-hours per day.
Randolph County EMS is also supported by two EMT-Intermediate ambulance services; Ash-Rand Rescue & EMS, Inc. and Piedmont Triad Ambulance and Rescue, Inc. These private non-profit agencies respond to emergency calls, as well as handle most convalescent transports.

Fire Inspectors are certified by the State to conduct routine inspections on all Businesses, Churches and Schools within the unincorporated areas of Randolph County and for the Towns of Franklinville, Ramseur, Seagrove, and Staley. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Each week two Inspectors are on-call to respond to and assist fire departments on fire-related incidents to determine the cause and/or origin.
