The Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) is a Federally-funded program that provides emergency assistance to eligible households that are in a heating or cooling related emergency. The purpose of the CIP program is to help families stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. By doing so, this reduces the risk of health and safety problems such as illness, fire or eviction.
CIP Eligible households must:
- Meet an income test.
- Be in a heating or cooling-related emergency.
- Include a U.S. citizen or an eligible alien.
Payments are made directly to vendors.
CIP Applications for Randolph County households can be submitted via NC ePASS Portal or in person at both the Asheboro and Archdale DSS Offices.
Visit the NC Division of Social Services - Crisis Intervention Program webpage for more information regarding the Crisis Intervention Program.
