On February 21, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Criminal Interdiction Team initiated a traffic stop in Trinity, NC. During the course of the traffic stop, a firearm was located and seized. The driver of the vehicle produced identification as Roman Saldana. The driver was initially charged with Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Weapon and Unsafe Lane Change.
After further investigation, it was determined that a false identification was produced during the traffic stop, and the driver was later identified as Raymundo Rodriguez Saldana. A Warrant for Arrest was sought on Raymundo Rodriguez Saldana for Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, Felony Identity Theft, Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Gun and Unsafe Lane Change. On March 2, 2023, Raymundo Saldana was apprehended and transported to Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with his warrants and received a $50,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for March 3, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
