On October 16, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Browns Crossroads Rd., Staley, in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, deputies were directed inside the residence and followed the sound of the commotion coming from inside the house. The subjects involved were arguing over keys taken for a vehicle. Deborah Victoria Pate refused to return the vehicle keys to the owner after being asked by law enforcement to return them.
She was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony larceny from a person and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. She was issued a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for October 18, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
