UPDATE –
On October 24, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the Randleman Police Department, and the Asheboro Police Department, made an arrest in the robbery of the Mountain View Mart. The suspect in the robbery is a juvenile and has therefore been referred to the North Carolina Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Due to the age of the suspect, no additional information can be released.

On October 19, 2023, at around 7:59 p.m., the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Caraway Mountain Road for a reported armed robbery at Mountain View Mart.
Upon arrival and while checking the area around the building, the deputy observed the distraught caller through one of the glass windows, who pointed towards the east on Caraway Mountain Road. Deputies arriving in the area searched but did not see the vehicle in the immediate area. Upon entering the business, the deputy observed three discharged ammunition cartridges on the floor. The victim was able to give a clothing description for the suspect and provided details for the incident. The deputy observed three entry holes in the ceiling above the register from the fired gun.
Additional patrol deputies and detectives arrived to assist in the investigation.
The suspect is described as a white male, who was wearing black Nike shoes with white soles and white swoosh, black sweatpants, a black hoodie, and a black neck gaiter over his face.
The suspect’s truck is a black in color, Supercab F-150 (12th Generation, years 2009-2014) with chrome-colored rims, door handles, side steps, and gas cap. The vehicle has seven-spoke rims, and chrome mirror accents. The suspect vehicle is seen on surveillance video fleeing south on Green Farm Road.
