On November 8, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle towing a trailer only connected by one chain and not the hitch causing many sparks to be thrown from the metal tongue of the trailer scraping the road surface while traveling northbound on Cedar Square Road. The subject was identified as Andrew Ryan Wilson, who advised he was recovering the trailer, which he claimed to have been stolen from him at an unknown time and date.
After further investigation, it was determined that the trailer had been reported stolen out of High Point by the owner, who was not Wilson.
Wilson was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of stolen property. He was given a written promise to appear in Randolph County District Court on November 27, 2023.
