On December 1, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Thomasville Rd., Archdale, in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, deputies met with the victims and gathered information.
Following the investigation, Richard Matthew Bailey was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony break or enter a motor vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor communicating threats, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor injury to personal property. No bond was set due to being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for December 4, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
