On November 25, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy on routine patrol in Franklinville, initiated voluntary contact with an unknown male, later identified as Travis Lawrence Thomas, who had gotten off of a dirt bike and proceeded to approach the intersection on foot while pulling his dirt bike beside the patrol vehicle. The deputy noticed that there was no license plate attached to the vehicle. During a consensual search, a white substance and paraphernalia were located and seized, pending state lab results.
On December 31, 2023, charges were sought against Thomas. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a criminal summons for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thomas was served the criminal summons on January 22, 2024. A court date was set for February 5, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
