On January 2, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective was notified that Adam Lee Presnell, a registered sex offender, would be moving from his registered address as of January 9, 2024. He was advised that as a registered sex offender, he is required to notify the agency he is registered with of any address change within three business days. Presnell failed to notify this agency. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a requested warrant for felony fail to report new address – sex offender.
On February 2, 2024, Presnell came to the Sheriff’s Office and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant. Presnell received a $5,000 secure bond with a first appearance set for February 5, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
