On May 3, 2024, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office assisted NC Probation Officers in serving a felony probation violation on Justin Ian Elkin who was located on Creekway Ridge, Asheboro. Elkin also had an outstanding warrant for arrest. During a subsequent search, illegal substances and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he went before the magistrate, who found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with his felony probation violation and other outstanding processes for misdemeanor driving while license revoked -impaired revoked, and misdemeanor hit/run leaving the scene of property damage. He received a total of $100,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 6, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
