On May 30, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sunset View, Trinity, in reference to the possible location of a stolen vehicle out of Thomasville. Information received was that Zachary Lane Poole, who had outstanding warrants, and a female subject would be occupying the vehicle. Upon arrival, Poole was observed getting out of the stolen vehicle and entering the residence. No one else was in the vehicle at that time. Deputies were granted permission to enter the residence. An open window was observed in a bathroom and evident that someone had fled. Poole was located by perimeter units a couple of streets away and placed under arrest.
Deputies re-entered the residence and re-cleared it, locating Carol Lee Spivey, 37, crouching down in the attic space. She was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Braxton Lee Hunt, 25, who had an outstanding Order for Arrest out of Guilford County was also located at the residence and was placed under arrest.
All three were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
The magistrate found probable cause for the following charges against Poole: felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and misdemeanor resisting public officer and received no bond due to the Pretrial Integrity Act and a first appearance was set for May 31, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
Poole was served a Warrant for Arrest out of Davidson County for felony larceny of a motor vehicle and received no bond due to the Pretrial Integrity Act and a court date was set for June 3, 2024, in Davidson County District Court. He was also served an outstanding Order for Arrest for failure to appear on a misdemeanor out of Randolph County and given a $2,500 secured bond with a May 31, 2024, court date in Randolph County.
In regards to Spivey, the magistrate found probable cause for misdemeanor resisting a public officer, and no bond was given due to the Pretrial Integrity Act and a first appearance was set for May 31, 2024, in Randolph County. She was served with four Orders for Arrest out of Guilford County for Probation Violation and received a total of $7,000 secured bond and a court date of June 12, 2024, in Guilford County.
Hunt was served an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear out of Guilford County and given a $1,000 secured bond with a June 24, 2024, court date in Guilford County.
