Following the investigation, an additional charge was sought against Michael Richard English for felony possession of stolen goods/property and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
On June 8, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle traveling on Archdale Rd., Trinity, however, the driver accelerated, and a chase ensued, losing sight of the vehicle while waiting to safely make a left onto Hoover Hill Rd. The vehicle was found abandoned in a driveway on Beckerdite Rd. Following an investigation, the driver was identified as Michael Richard English. Charges were sought against English for felony flee to elude arrest with motor vehicle, speeding, unsafe passing yellow line, and fail to stop stop sign/flashing red light. The magistrate found probable cause for these charges and issued a warrant for his arrest.
On June 17, 2024, English was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrants and outstanding orders for arrest for failure to appear. He was issued a $177,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for June 20, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.

On April 25, 2024, the Urban Interdiction Team went to a residence on Harlow Rd. in Archdale to conduct a follow-up investigation into the theft of a motorcycle and pop-up camper. While on scene, the items were located on the property. During the investigation, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were also located. Michael Richard English, who was identified as a suspect, was arrested on scene.
English was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of stolen motor vehicle, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $25,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for April 26, 2024, in Randolph County District Court. He was also served an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear for misdemeanor driving while license revoked not impaired revoked and received an additional $2,000 secured bond with a court date scheduled for April 26, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
The motorcycle and pop-up camper were both returned to their owners. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges will be forthcoming.
