On April 11, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Jim Pierce Rd., Trinity, for a reported suspicious male walking in the area. Upon arrival, deputies located the male, identified as John Robert Ferrell. During the investigation, paraphernalia and illegal narcotics were located. Due to being unable to identify the narcotics, the deputy packaged them to be sent to the State Crime Lab for certified testing. Ferrell was escorted to his destination.
On June 14, 2024, charges were sought on Ferrell for felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On September 9, 2024, Ferrell was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant. The magistrate issued a $2,000 secured bond and a court date was set for September 16, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
