On May 30, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Finch Farm Rd., Trinity regarding a welfare check. Upon arrival, two unconscious subjects were located in a vehicle. They were able to wake them, secure the narcotics located, and have them evaluated by EMS. They were later identified as Nicholas Dewayne Blackwell and Amy Kristine Beck. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, additional items were located.
Both were taken into custody and transported to the Trinity office for the purpose of an interview. Following the interviews, both were released and further investigation began.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against both for felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, felony conspiracy to traffic opiate, and felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule II. The magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants.
On June 18, 2024, Beck was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant. She was issued a $3,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 20, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
On October 8, 2024, Blackwell was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond. A court date has been set for November 12, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
