On November 17, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Second Park Ave., Randleman, in reference to trespassing. After speaking with the caller, the subject, who was identified as James Curtis Barton, Jr. was trespassed from the property. Barton appeared to be under the influence of an impairing substance and refused to leave the property after multiple commands. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located. He was then arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing. He received a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 18, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
