On November 19, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Wedgewood Ter., Trinity, in reference to a Breaking and Entering in progress. Upon arrival, a female identified as Brittney Brockman (alias Brittany Barrett), was located hiding in the residence. Brockman requested EMS for an existing injury. EMS arrived to evaluate Brockman and determined she needed to be transported for further care. While obtaining items she wanted to be transported with her, deputies found a check she had attempted to endorse that did not belong to her and multiple credit cards that were not hers. During the investigation, it was discovered that she had outstanding orders for arrest. During a subsequent search of Brockman for transport by EMS, illegal substances and paraphernalia were located in her possession.
Charges were sought against Brockman and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest for felony possession of Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, felony financial card theft, felony identity theft, two counts of felony alter/steal/destroy criminal evidence, felony larceny from the person, two counts misdemeanor resisting public officer, and misdemeanor possession drug paraphernalia.
On December 5, 2024, Brockman was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant and orders for arrest. She received both a no bond and a secured $5,999.99 bond. A first appearance was set for December 6, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
