On January 7, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at Sealy Dr and Surrett Dr., Archdale. Upon approach, the odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During contact with the driver, paraphernalia was observed in the console area. During a subsequent search, marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl, and US currency were located.
The driver was identified as Courtney Tyreek Baskins and the passenger was identified as Kendrick Dominic Baskins. Both were arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. During the intake process, Fentanyl was found in the possession of Courtney.
Both were taken before the magistrate who found probable cause for the charges, as follows:
Courtney Tyreek Baskins - felony possession of cocaine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, and misdemeanor expired registration. He was not given a bond due to having pending charges.
Kendrick Dominic Baskins - felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to 1/2 oz, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was issued a $5,000 unsecured bond.
A first appearance was set for January 8, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
