On March 3, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Unity St., Thomasville. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The driver, identified as Darlene Cruthis Surratt, was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for two counts of felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, felony maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Surratt received no bond due to being out on pre-trial release and was given a court date for March 3, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
