On March 24, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Edwards Farm Rd., Ramseur, in reference to a burglary in progress call with a male subject actively attempting to break into the residence. Upon arrival, Charles Christopher Cockman was located on the property. Cockman has an active protection order against him and was not to be on the property. He initially resisted arrest but was taken into custody and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony break/enter terrorize/injure, misdemeanor resisting public officer, and misdemeanor domestic violence protective order. He was issued no bond and a first appearance was set for March 25, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
