On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported armed robbery on Red Wolf Ln., Asheboro. Upon arrival, deputies and investigators learned that the suspect vehicle was occupied by two black males and one Hispanic male who were armed with handguns and a rifle. The victim’s personal items were stolen during the incident.
After a thorough investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, in collaboration with the Asheboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, the occupants of the suspect vehicle were discovered to be juveniles. Probable cause was developed, and search warrants were executed at the suspect's residences.
The suspects in this investigation have been charged with the following: felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy to commit armed robbery, felony 2nd degree kidnapping, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, and misdemeanor possession of a handgun by a minor. The suspects' identities have not been released due to their juvenile status. Suspect one was taken into custody on Monday, April 14, 2025, and transferred to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice for further processing. The second suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, on a warrant for arrest, processed at Randolph County Detention Center, and then transported to juvenile detention.
