On May 20, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate calls for service on Parks Palmer Rd. and Old 421 Rd. in Liberty, in reference to burglaries that had already occurred, where victims reported that items had been stolen. During an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit and the Vice Narcotics Unit, a search warrant was obtained and executed on May 22, 2025, on Allison St. Ext. in Liberty, the residence of Wesley Eugene Calhoun. During the search, a large majority of the items reported stolen from the burglaries were recovered.
Calhoun was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also served with his outstanding processes. He was given a $101,000 secured bond plus EHA, with a first appearance set for May 23, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
On May 27, 2025, while still incarcerated, Calhoun was served with additional warrants relating to these cases for two counts of felony breaking and or entering, three counts of felony larceny after break/enter, three counts of felony possess stolen goods/property, two counts of felony larceny of a firearm, two counts of felony possess stolen firearm and felony break/enter motor vehicle. He received no bond for these charges with a first appearance set for May 28, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
