On June 26, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Highway Unit conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in Archdale. During the course of the traffic stop, a subsequent search was conducted, and detectives located and seized approximately 1.9 pounds (861.8 grams) of marijuana along with U.S. currency.
As a result, Demario Henry Lee Evans of South Carolina was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, and felony maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance. He received a $15,000 secured bond plus Electronic House Arrest, with a first appearance set for June 27, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
