On June 19, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit responded to Sunset View Dr. Ext., Archdale, in an attempt to serve warrants for arrest on Eric Andrew Thompson. Thompson was located at the residence and placed into custody. During his arrest, fentanyl and paraphernalia were located. Thompson was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served with his outstanding warrants. He was additionally charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and was issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance is scheduled for June 20, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Later, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit charged Thompson following the investigation into a motor vehicle burglary with theft. On June 30, 2025, while still confined in the Randolph County Detention Center, Tompson was served with his additional warrant for arrest for felony break/enter motor vehicle w/theft, felony possession of stolen goods/property, felony larceny of a firearm, felony possess stolen firearm, and misdemeanor injury to personal property. Thompson received an additional $25,000 secured bond with a court date scheduled for July 3, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
