On July 18, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on W. Dixie Dr., Asheboro.
During a subsequent search, cocaine and paraphernalia were located. The driver was identified as Preston Eugene Tinnin, and the passenger was identified as Kenneth Lee Armstrong. Both were arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were issued a $1,500 unsecured bond, and a first appearance was set for July 25, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
