On May 26, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense against a minor.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against James Kevin Hinson for felony indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor sexual battery.
On July 29, 2025, Hinson was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. He was issued a $50,000 secured bond, and a first appearance is scheduled for July 30, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
