On August 11, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Meadowbrook Rd., Asheboro, in reference to an armed person. Upon arrival, a deputy observed two individuals with injuries outside of the residence, while a male was seen standing in the doorway holding a knife. Additional deputies and officers from the Asheboro Police Department arrived to help secure the scene.
Deputies began giving lawful commands to the male, later identified as Dennis Farrell Siler, II, to drop the knife. Initially, he refused to comply with these commands but later put the knife down, exited the residence, and was taken into custody.
Following an investigation by the Randolph County Criminal Investigations Division, Siler was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for charges against Siler for two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was scheduled for August 11, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
