On August 21, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lantern Dr., Asheboro, in reference to an agency assist to attempt to locate a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle and confirmed that it was the one reported stolen in Asheboro. They located Eric Dale Tucker in possession of it. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was given no bond, and a first appearance was set for August 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
