On September 18, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at Hub Morris Rd. and N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro.
During a subsequent search, an illegal substance and paraphernalia were located. Stephen Kyle Barzdins was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $3,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for September 19, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
