On October 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Thayer Rd., Trinity, in reference to a disturbance.
Following an investigation, Austyn Chase Covington was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony first-degree arson and misdemeanor injury to real property. He was issued no bond, and a first appearance was set for October 3, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
