On October 30, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on East Dixie Dr., Asheboro. An Asheboro Police Officer arrived on scene to assist with the traffic stop. The driver was identified as Jeffery Lee Needham, whose driver's license had been suspended.
During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located.
Following the investigation, Needham was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was issued no bond, and a first appearance was set for October 31, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Needham was also issued a warning citation for Driving While License Revoked and displaying a fictitious registration plate.
