On December 5, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hwy 64 East., Ramseur, in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival the victim was able to provide some evidence for the investigation and Crime Scene Investigation detectives responded to collect other evidence.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Dominick Lynn Sloan and Jody Alanna Hayes, as follows:
- Sloan: for felony possession of stolen goods/property, felony larceny after break/enter, felony attempted break or enter building, misdemeanor injury to real property, and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing. The magistrate found probable cause and issued warrants for their arrest.
- Hayes: felony conspire break/enter building – felony / larceny, felony possession stolen goods/property, and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing
On December 7, 2025, Sloan and Hayes were located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued no bond for either due to being out on Pre-Trial release from other charges. A first appearance was set for December 8, 2025, in Randolph County District Court for both.
Some of the stolen property was recovered and has been returned to the victim.
