Registered sex offender, Shane Foster Hill attempted to register with Davidson County Sheriff’s Office on December 4, 2025. Hill was advised from Davidson County that he must complete a change of address with Randolph County Sheriff’s Office first; then register in Davidson County. Hill did not report to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office within three business days, as required by NC law. Therefore, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective sought a warrant for arrest, and the magistrate found probable cause for felony failing to report new address as a sex offender.
On December 15, 2025, Hill was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant and given no bond. Hill had a first appearance on December 16, 2025, in Randolph County District Court and the Judge set a $50,000 secure bond.
