On May 29, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Westchapel Rd., Asheboro. The female passenger was identified as Courtney McKenzie Green, who had outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear in Randolph County court on felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest. The male driver was identified as Samuel Willis Davis. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located where Davis had been seated. He was also placed under arrest. They were both transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine against Davis. He received a $5,000 unsecured bond and a first appearance was set for June 26, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
Green was served her outstanding order and was issued a $1,500 secured bond and a court date was set for May 30, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
