On June 7, 2023, at approximately 9:46 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lassiter Mill Rd., Asheboro, in reference to the report of a burglary. The victim reported multiple tools missing from inside the residence and was able to provide a list of the items taken to the responding Detectives.
Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Urban Interdiction Team units conducted a traffic stop on North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro, related to the reported burglary. During the traffic stop, K-9 Ziva alerted to the presence of narcotics and a probable cause search was conducted. Methamphetamine and stolen tools were located during the subsequent search of the vehicle.
McNeill was arrested for the methamphetamine, as well as other charges relating to the break-in from Lassiter Mill Road. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony breaking and/or entering, felony larceny after break/enter, and felony possession of stolen goods/property. McNeill received a $30,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
Detectives also connected McNeill to a reported breaking and entering on Keyauee Dr., Asheboro, NC. Locating some of the stolen items from that breaking and entering in his possession as well.
Charges were sought against McNeill for that reported offense also. The magistrate found probable cause for felony breaking and/or entering, felony larceny after break/enter, and felony possession of stolen goods/property and issued warrants. McNeill received an additional $15,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
