On June 14, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the parking lot of the office in reference to a subject wanting to turn himself in for a crime committed. A relative of the victim was also present and explained that Jeremy Robert Kowalski, who is known to the victim, had stolen a firearm around a month ago and was present to turn himself in.
Following the investigation, Kowalski was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony larceny of a firearm. He was issued a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 16, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
