On July 2, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Clyde King Rd., Asheboro, to follow up on a report of a stolen motor vehicle. During the investigation, Randolph Communications advised that Erin Marie Johnson had outstanding warrants and one criminal summons. While being placed under arrest, deputies observed and intercepted narcotics she was attempting to hand off to another person on scene. She was transported to Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served the outstanding processes. The magistrate found probable cause for an additional charge of felony possession of methamphetamine. She was issued an $8,500 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 3, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
