On July 12, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office assisted Randolph County Animal Services after they had responded to a call regarding an aggressive dog on Searcy Rd. Ext. Upon arrival the Animal Control Officer located abandoned malnourished dogs outside of the residence; two of which were deceased. The caller had also reported multiple dogs inside the residence with no caregiver. Contact was made with the homeowner who responded and allowed officers to enter the home. Upon entry, puppies and the mother were located; two of those puppies were deceased. Joseph Kyle Jones and Charity Michelle Wall were identified as the current residents of the property and owners of the dogs.
Following the investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Jones and Wall for nine counts of felony cruelty to animals. The magistrate found probable cause and issued the warrants.
On July 19, 2023, Jones and Wall were located, arrested and transported to Randolph County Detention Center, where they were served their warrants. Jones was issued a $20,000 secured bond and Wall was issued a $10,000 secured bond. A first appearance for July 20, 2023, in Randolph County District Court for both.
