On May 16, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Act Temple Dr., Randleman, in reference to a larceny that had occurred on Staley’s Farm Rd., Asheboro. Upon return home, the victim discovered items missing, to include a vehicle.
During an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, it was discovered that the vehicle had been sold by Lawrence Emile Paige, Jr., to another subject who sold it for scrap. Detectives sought charges against Paige for felony obtain property by false pretense and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant on June 9, 2023.
On August 18, 2023, Paige turned himself in at the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding warrant. The magistrate issued a written promise to appear on August 21, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
