On October 12, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hollow Tree Dr., Liberty, in reference to a person armed with a firearm. The caller stated that Latrell Nathaniel Greene had been on the property armed with a fully automatic rifle but had left on foot in an unknown direction of travel. Deputies arrived and located a male subject hiding across the street and identified himself as one of the victims. The victims explained that they have had multiple items stolen recently from the property and they suspect that Greene is the suspect. While speaking to them, deputies received an additional call from Shelton Country Rd., an address that is approximately one mile from Hollow Tree Dr. The call was in reference to a burglary in progress. The first unit to arrive on scene at Shelton Country Rd. located Greene in the driveway of the residence, unarmed.
During the investigation, deputies obtained video evidence of Latrell taking items from the residence. Greene was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony larceny after break & enter, and two counts of felony possession of stolen goods/property. He was issued a $3,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for October 13, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
