On January 7, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Allred St., Franklinville, in reference to a serving and outstanding process. Upon arrival, Keith Van Smith was located and arrested. During the search to arrest, heroin was located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin and received no bond on this charge. Smith was served his outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear on trafficking heroin and was issued a $150,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for January 8, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
