Sheriff Seabolt felt strongly about making sure employees have the support needed and initiated the peer to peer support team program at the Sheriff’s Office. In this video, Randolph County Government’s Wellness Administrator Sam Varner shares information in this video about the peer to peer support program and other County programs involved in “creating a culture of wellness.” Health Coaching, Financial Coaching and CARE Counseling programs are also offered to all County employees and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
- Peer Support Team - The peer support team was started to assist employees in dealing with stress and emotional difficulties related to officer involved incidents. All team members care deeply about the well-being of our RCSO brothers and sisters. Our chosen profession forces us to see and endure stresses that are not meant for the average person; such as seeing a child being sexually abused or seeing someone who has committed suicide, etc., just to name a couple. These stresses accumulate over time and can break even the strongest of us.
- Offer Health Coaching – “Eighty-six percent of all healthcare costs come from treating chronic disease and eighty percent of all chronic disease is behavioral. Health Coaching is emerging as a proven method for helping clients change behavior and improve their health. Several studies have shown that Health Coaching is effective in improving various aspects of health.”- Sam Varner
- Offer Financial Coaching - Meet with a financial specialist to get advice on any financial related matter including creating a budget, debt consolidation, home ownership, paying off student debt, retirement, and much more.
- C.A.R.E. Counseling—Counseling Available for Randolph County Employees. Created CARE program that provides therapy and counseling for any employee and family member who may need mental and emotional assistance whether it be on the job or home related.
