On May 8, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Meadowland Dr., Asheboro, in reference to a larceny of a motor vehicle in progress. While en route, the caller continued to give updates on what was occurring. Upon arrival, deputies observed a white GMC truck backed in the caller’s driveway with the headlights off and located two males attempting to hide. The first male encountered was identified as Dustin Scott Giles, who had an unserved civil order for arrest for child support, and was detained. The second male was identified as Ethan Bradford Chambers. Following an investigation and subsequent search, both were placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the following charges:
Dustin Scott Giles: felony attempted larceny, felony break or enter a motor vehicle, misdemeanor first degree trespassing enter/remain, and misdemeanor injury to real property. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and $2,441 cash bond and a first appearance was set for May 9, 2022. in Randolph County District Court.
Ethan Bradford Chambers: felony possession of methamphetamine, felony attempted larceny, felony break or enter a motor vehicle, misdemeanor first degree trespassing enter/remain, and misdemeanor injury to real property. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for May 9, 2022. in Randolph County District Court.
