On October 3, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop near NC Hwy 49 S and Tot Hill Farm Rd. in Asheboro. During the stop, a search was conducted and detectives located and seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana. As a result, Jonathan Weston Calhoun and Casey Dean Bean were both placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
Jonathan Calhoun was taken before the magistrate and probable cause was found for the charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony possession heroin, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to ½ oz. He was issued a $2,500 secured bond with a first appearance set for October 4, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
Casey Bean was taken before the magistrate and probable cause was found for the charges of felony possession of fentanyl, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for October 4, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
