On May 15, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Little River Rd., Seagrove, in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, a deputy located a male unconscious inside a locked vehicle that was still running and parked at pump in front of the business. Paraphernalia used for illegal narcotics was observed in the male's hand. Once an additional deputy arrived they were able to wake the male and have him exit the vehicle where he was identified as John William Lunceford. During a subsequent search, an illegal substance and additional paraphernalia were located. Also located were three driver's licenses and a copy of a Georgia driver’s license, none of which belonged to Mr. Lunceford. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of Schedule I controlled substance, three counts of felony identity theft, misdemeanor possess/manufacture a fraudulent ID and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance date of May 16, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
