On February 3, 2025, Randolph County Detention Center Staff were conducting the booking process of Quadyr Dakwon Hemphill when he willfully assaulted staff. He was detained and taken back before the magistrate. The magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony assault causing physical injury to law enforcement/probation/parole officer. He received an additional $15,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 4, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
