On December 30, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Pike View Dr., Trinity, in reference to a burglary. A representative of the business stated that multiple items had been stolen and provided evidence for the investigation.
During the investigation, the suspect attempted to make a purchase from an area business and send money to a CashApp account using a card stolen from the business.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against John Michael Kennedy for felony breaking and or entering, felony larceny after break/enter, felony financial card theft, and felony obtain property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause and issued the warrant.
On March 5. 2025, Kennedy was located in Davie County, arrested, and transported to the Davie County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and a court date was set for April 14, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
