On May 20, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hinshaw Town Rd. in reference to vehicle and property theft. Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene Investigations responded to process the scene for evidence. Detectives began checking the area and located the vehicle on Foxfire Rd. sitting in an old roadbed off the side of the roadway. Crime Scene Investigators also responded to that location to collect evidence.
Following the investigation, charges were sought on Danny Ray Atkins, Jr., and James William Kindley on May 23, 2022, in which the magistrate found probable cause for felony larceny of motor vehicle, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts felony breaking and/or entering, felony larceny after breaking/entering, felony possession stolen goods/property, and felony obtain property by false pretense.
On May 26, 2022, Atkins was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrants.
On May 26, 2022, Kindley presented himself at the Randolph County Detention Center where he was taken before a magistrate and served his warrants.
Both received a $10,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for May 27, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
