On March 17, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a breaking and entering into an outbuilding on Shelton Country Rd. Upon arrival, the homeowner advised that he had discovered items missing from the garage that he believed to have been taken while the homeowner was out of town. The suspect was identified as Jason Howard Cockman.
Following a lengthy investigation by a Criminal Investigations Division Detective, a warrant was sought on Cockman on May 16, 2022, for felony breaking and/or entering and felony larceny after break/enter. On May 30, 2022, Cockman was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant for arrest and the magistrate issued a $15,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 31, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
