On April 23, 2025, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy encountered a female subject who was visibly injured and wished to report an assault. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the assailant, who was identified as Gatlin Jarrett Hurley.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Hurley for felony assault by strangulation and two counts of misdemeanor assault on a female. The magistrate found probable cause to issue warrants for arrest.
On April 24, 2025, Hurley was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. No bond was issued due to the charge being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for April 25, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
