On April 8, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Olivers Chapel Rd., Staley, in reference to the discharge of a firearm into a dwelling and a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle with damage consistent with a bullet and located a casing. Crime Scene Investigations and Criminal Investigations Detectives responded to collect evidence.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Guy Maurice Wise for felony discharge a weapon into an occupied dwelling/moving vehicle and felony discharge a weapon into an occupied property.
On April 22, 2025, Wise was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. He was issued no bond and a first appearance was set for April 23, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
